I'm officially done with "Deviant Art"

1. Nobody checks the ads before they put them in, I don't care what they say. I just about got a virus from them today because one of their ads redirected me to a very familiar website that claims it has found viruses on your computer and is now scanning it. ANYONE who misses that when putting it an ad has to be an extreme moron. I've personally been handed ads loaded with that script and swore my head off at the people trying to sell it to us. It's a load of bullshit. Nobody should accept it, no matter what amount of money they get!

2. I'm sick of this place hiding behind their "lack of staff" excuse for excessively bad moderation, especially when it comes to CHILD PORNOGRAPHY. Not once have they handled a single child pornography case within the 24 to 48 hours listed. Not once have they handled any case revolving around pornographic material within those given times. It always takes one to three months, if not a YEAR to be handled. I am not sorry in the least bit to say that those claims are a load of shit, and are far from being exaggerated. That would never fly in court hearing, and if it did then the judge should be suspended, if not prevented from EVER handling another hearing again. When you report a 12 year old for posting nudes of herself on the second of january, 2006, and don't get a reply until december 12, 2007 only to hear that the content in question was removed for being "adult content"... I'm sorry but that's beyond reasoning. It shouldn't happen even once, and it happens every time I need support from the staff ever since I joined this hell hole. I've actually contacted very specific people asking them to review this place because the only honest possibility this would keep happening is that one (or more) of the staff members is either not doing their job and slacking off, or that one (or more) of the staff is/are pedophile(s). If that is the case, I honestly want no part of this place.

3. I was able to talk... hmm... about 80 to 90% of the girls out of showing their images within a matter of hours. By the time the staff finally did anything their only reply was "the images have already been removed." No duh, Einstien! I BEAT YOU TO IT! Sad part is, during that period of time the amount of downloads always spiked, but only after my report went through which severally makes me worried about the last sentence of point number 2... Seriously folks, this shit shouldn't happen. There is no apology that can be made to resolve this instance. The damage has long since been done and now those images still live on in someone else's computer where they fap off to them daily, and that's just fucking sad as hell. People wonder why I have no respect for society despite being such a nice guy? It's crap like this.

4. A lot of the people here are pretty blind to what art really is. We have 50 year old males taking pictures of clearly MUCH younger models naked with no modifications, and often times not even the appropriate equipment doing shots with the exact same facial expressions you'd find on the cover of... A Playboy... If I wanted to stare at sluts every time I logged into a place, I'd go sign up at some place like 4chan! Holding your breasts and LICKING THEM isn't art. Yes, some of the images most certainly have a great view and story, but these images are not only regretably rare, but also never the ones that become the most popular art. It's been like this for years, and even though DA's staff claimed they'd fix it with their 08 interface change... GUESS WHAT!? They didn't! Big surprise.

5. They're blatantly obviously trying to compete with Fur Affinity. I honestly don't believe what I've heard from the staff, that much would have to be obvious. Sad part is, Fur Affinity doesn't take much to compete against, DA has been winning for years without even trying so trying to compete is just plain pretty bad...

6. My message center on all the accounts was broken today. Not only has DA made a bad running streak of having problems, but they always choose to blame them on Windows, or Internet Explorer. Sad part is, I see these problems on Macs, and on Firefox. Don't blame other people for your own incompetence! I'd have said something, but I honestly already figured what their response would be since this isn't the first time.

7. Lucky number seven... Except for this time. As before mentioned, this place doesn't really get art outside of a select few artists like *JohnSu, `Wen-M, and *Go-Devil-Dante. I'm not saying any of you reading this journal are like that, but it feels like 90 to 99% of DA's denizens cannot critique, and they think anything that looks like a stick figure is not only stolen, but horrible and therefore not actually worth looking at. It is a Yaoi, porn, and drama center. Honestly, once again, if I wanted this crap I'd go sign up for 4chan!

I could keep going, but odds are most of you stopped reading awhile ago getting the general idea. I'm leaving, I'm not coming back (largely because I don't want this laptop getting ruined just so I can read some unwanted replies), and I'm not posting anymore art on here.

P.S. I've actually been contemplating this since I rejoined but thought I'd use it as a message center... The threat of being done in by ads, however, is kind of making me think twice. I'd rather use good ol' email.
